First Impressions | Almay Intense i-Colour Collection.

Wednesday, 26 June 2013

So I won another competition.

And it was a make up competition... again.

HEY! I'm not complaining :) My luck has been amazing recently & it has been a nice change opposed to the usual toe-jabbing, pant-ripping, face-planting bad luck I'm used to.

On the Almay website they were holding a competition to describe you & your mother's most memorable make up related experience and my answer, amongst other answers, were chosen to win the prize!

I was given the entire 'intense i-colour' collection to match my hazel eyes as the collection is designed specifically to each of the different eye colours found in people, so obviously the collection I was given matched my eye colour. The colours in the collection are gorgeous and definitely bring out the hues of different colours in my eyes.

The brand prides itself in creating hypoallergenic make up to suit sensitive skin and and since I have dry and sensitive skin in some areas, especially my eyes, I thought it would be perfect for me to try out.

My prize included:

The Bold Nudes eye colour palette:

Liquid Shadow and Primer:

Volumizing Mascara:

Defining liner:

and a cute make up bag to carry it all in:

I was so impressed by the high quality of products given to me. It was an excellent prize to win!

These colours are gorgeous and I created the following looks using the products given to me:

 Some notes:

  • The eyeshadow palette's colours are very build-able and gradually intensify as you apply more coats of colour.

  • The eye liner pencil is a gorgeous shade of teal which compliments my eye colour. It is creamy and very easy to glide along the eye to create a winged cat eye look and to add a pop of colour to your waterline.

  • The mascara makes a noticeable difference to the volume of my eyelashes. A must have for any makeup look.

  • The Liquid Eyeshadow and Primer is a wonderful product to wear alone or underneath the eyeshadow to intensify the colours of the shadows. It sets quickly and avoids the eye shadow from creasing.

Overall I'm very pleased with the make up. The colours, although gorgeous, are not colours I would usually pick in a usual make up shopping trip, but they're wonderful additions to my make up collection.

I give these products:

4 Unicorns

Stay classy.

Benefit Cosmetics Australia & Butterfliielilian Meet-up & Competition! ☂

Sunday, 16 June 2013

Do you know those days where you just want to tell everybody how awesome it was?

Well today is one of those days.

A YouTuber who I watch, Butterfliielilian, and my favourite make-up brand, Benefit Cosmetics, pitched a competition where 4 lucky winners would get the chance to spend the morning being pampered with and educated on the wonderful uses of Benefit Cosmetics.

I, being the person that I am, entered & didn't really think I'd be chosen to win because I'm so unlucky! I've never won anything in my life!

Anyways,

...yesterday I received an email detailing that I had in fact won! I was SO excited. Seriously.

So, this morning I got up super early (7:00am is super early for me) and got ready to experience a morning of pampering & meeting Lilian!

It was so lovely & the Benefit Make-Up artists are SO amazing. Not to mention the other winners & Lilian were lovely too!

We feasted on cupcakes & learnt a lot about the products they have at Benefit. I volunteered to be the model for the day & I got my make-up done infront of everyone. The products that Benefit produces are just so high quality and each have multiple uses. I've religiously used They're Real mascara, Boi-ing Concealer, Hula Brozer, Hervana Blush and more. I've consistently been so amazed by their products, so being able to spend the day with the Benefit team while using their products and learning more about them was such a pleasure. I would recommend Benefit to anyone who wants to achieve the best makeup looks with the highest quality products.

Before the modelling, we all got our brows tinted and waxed. I've never wanted to show off my eyebrows as much as I do now. THEY. ARE. PERFECT.

We chatted about life, YouTube, our blogs, fashion, our pets, Instagram, Twitter & just everything! It was truly an amazing morning & I'm so grateful & thankful that I was part of it.

In the end we all got a goodie bag & in true Benefit fashion, the packaging was to die for.

I want to thank the Benefit Make-Up Artists at the Benefit Boutique in Paddington & Lilian from Butterfliielinian for hosting this wonderful morning.
